Vietnamese families are busier than ever, yet still want meals that taste of home. Thalvora's convenience foods and seasonings business grew out of that need and now covers 160 products, including instant porridge and soup, concentrated seasonings, dipping sauces, nuts and cereals. Our lines in Duc Trong and Tien Giang produce around 9,500 tonnes of finished goods a year, with 98% of key ingredients sourced from the company's partner farms.
Core product groups
- Instant brown rice porridge made from Dong Thap brown rice, fully cooked and then dried; just add boiling water and wait three minutes.
- Concentrated pho seasoning made with cinnamon, star anise, black cardamom, charred ginger and charred shallots, reduced at low pressure to capture the aroma of a long-simmered broth.
- Salted roasted cashews from Binh Phuoc, hot-air roasted and optically sorted.
- Oat and dried fruit cereal combining rolled oats with Thalvora's own mango, pineapple and freeze-dried strawberries (coming soon).
- Ready-cut soup vegetable kits portioned for two to three people and sold through the cold chain.
How we develop recipes
- Short ingredient lists, favouring ingredients consumers recognise.
- Step-by-step reductions in salt and sugar across existing ranges, with clear nutrition information on pack.
- No synthetic preservatives in our concentrated seasonings; shelf life comes from pasteurisation and hermetic packing.
- Every new recipe is tasted by an internal sensory panel and consumer groups in the north, centre and south.
Safe production
Dry processing areas are separated from fresh preparation, with humidity control and positive air pressure to limit cross-contamination. Products containing cashews run on dedicated lines and carry clear allergen labelling. All processes operate under HACCP and ISO 22000:2018 and are re-audited every year.
Packaging and shelf life
Porridge and seasonings are packed in multi-layer pouches with moisture and oxygen barriers, keeping flavour stable for nine to twelve months at room temperature without refrigeration. Cashews are nitrogen-flushed to slow rancidity. We are moving the entire dry range to recyclable mono-material packaging by 2028.
Convenience is not a compromise. A sachet of pho seasoning should still start with shallots and ginger charred over a real flame.
The category serves modern retail, e-commerce and food service, with bulk pack sizes for restaurants and institutional kitchens.
