Six containers of pure passion fruit juice from the Binh Duong plant have reached Australia, a market where Thalvora previously sold only dried fruit. Beverages are now the company's fastest-growing export category in 2026.

First shipment of pure passion fruit juice arrives in Australia, broadening our beverage exports

In late August 2026, six containers of Thalvora Foods' pure passion fruit juice arrived in Australia, where they are being distributed to specialty food stores and restaurants through a local importer. It is the first time a Thalvora beverage has been sold in the country, where the company has exported soft dried mango and crispy jackfruit since 2019.

From the orchards of Dong Thap

The passion fruit in the shipment was harvested in our Dong Thap fruit region, where Thalvora works with more than 1,400 growers across roughly 900 ha. Fruit is bought against minimum ripeness and Brix criteria, delivered to the Binh Duong plant within 24 hours, then pulped, flash-pasteurised and aseptically filled.

To meet Australian requirements, the product went through almost a year of preparation:

  • Completing food safety and labelling documentation in line with local import rules;
  • Testing every lot for pesticide residues at an independent laboratory;
  • Redesigning the bilingual label to show the growing region and a traceability QR code;
  • A 12-month stability study under a range of storage temperatures.

Beverages: our fastest-growing category

In the first nine months of 2026, Thalvora's beverage export revenue rose 38% year on year, the fastest growth of any category. Bottled fresh coconut water and passion fruit juice are now sold in 11 of the 28 countries we export to, mainly Japan, South Korea, the Middle East and Europe.

Customers in Australia already knew Thalvora's dried fruit, so they trusted us when we introduced our beverages. Reputation is built one consistent shipment at a time, not with a single big contract. — Ms Dang Ngoc Mai, Director of Sales and Export

What it means for growers

Export orders keep the plant running at a steady rate all year, which allows Thalvora to offer longer purchase contracts to Dong Thap farmers. From next season, growers with GlobalG.A.P.-certified orchards will receive a price bonus 8% above the standard floor price, and Thalvora will cover part of their certification audit costs in the first year.

Mr Nguyen Van Loc, who leads a passion fruit growers' cooperative group in Dong Thap, says a stable buyer is what growers value most, because open-market passion fruit prices can swing threefold within a single season.

Packaging and shipping

The juice is packed in 250 ml glass bottles for restaurants and 1-litre cartons for food stores. Each container carries a temperature logger for the roughly 18-day sea voyage, and the data is shared with the importer as soon as the shipment arrives in port.

Expansion plans

Following the first shipment, the importer has placed quarterly orders for 2027. Thalvora is also preparing to bring bottled fresh coconut water to Australia next year and is developing a passion fruit and mango blend for the HORECA channel.
