The new cereal combines rolled oats with mango, jackfruit and passion fruit dried from Thalvora's own growing regions, with no added refined sugar, after 18 months of development at the Tien Giang plant.

Thalvora Foods has introduced a new product to its distribution partners: Oat Cereal with Dried Fruit, extending a nuts and cereals category that currently includes roasted salted cashews. The product is due for launch and is expected to reach modern retail and e-commerce channels from the first quarter of 2027.
From dried fruit to an easy breakfast
The idea came from the Tien Giang dried fruit plant itself. When dried mango and jackfruit are cut and graded, a share of the pieces is too small for retail packs, even though the quality is exactly the same. Rather than selling these pieces on to the animal feed industry, our research and development team began blending them with oats to create a convenient breakfast for busy families.
After 18 months, more than 40 recipe trials and three rounds of sensory testing with 600 consumers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, the final recipe contains:
- Rolled oats, making up 62% of the weight;
- Soft dried mango, vacuum-fried crispy jackfruit and dried passion fruit from our Dong Thap and Tien Giang growing areas;
- Diced cashews and a small amount of coconut nectar for natural sweetness;
- No added refined sugar, no preservatives and no artificial flavourings.
Made to international standards
The cereal is produced on a new blending line at the Tien Giang plant, in an area certified to FSSC 22000 and HACCP. Every lot of fruit can be traced back to the orchard through the QR code printed on the pack, in line with the commitment Thalvora has kept since 2021 that 100% of its growing areas are QR-traceable.
We wanted a product whose ingredient list a parent can read in ten seconds and fully understand. Everything in the box comes from growing areas our own team has walked. — Ms Pham Thu Ha, Director of Quality and Food Safety
Packaging and pack sizes
The cereal comes in two formats: a 400 g carton with a resealable inner bag, and a 40 g single-serve sachet for office and HORECA customers. The carton uses paper from responsibly managed plantation forests, and the inner bag is a recyclable mono-material film.
Less waste at the plant
Using the smaller fruit pieces is expected to save the Tien Giang plant around 140 tonnes a year of by-products that would otherwise be sold at low value. It is part of a wider goal, pursued across all three of our factories, to turn a higher share of raw materials into consumer products. Once volumes stabilise, the new blending line will create around 45 jobs for local workers, mainly in packing and quality control.
Launch timeline
In the fourth quarter of 2026, Thalvora will complete product registration and run a commercial trial in selected stores. Wider distribution is planned from the first quarter of 2027 through our network of 160,000 outlets, after which the company will consider exports to markets that already buy its dried fruit.
